Un appartement dans Le Marais

In the heart of Le Marais, this apartment renovation explores the delicate balance between timeless Parisian elegance and contemporary design. Original architectural details—ornate moldings, fireplaces, and parquet floors—set the stage, while modern interventions, such as a sleek stainless steel arch and an integrated kitchen in the same material, introduce a refined contrast.

A central storage band runs through the apartment, seamlessly serving both the kitchen and bathroom, ensuring both functionality and visual harmony. Furniture and lighting were carefully selected to dialogue with the materials of the space: a Mangiarotti marble dining table, a stainless steel coffee table, and Murano glass lamps enhance the sense of material continuity.

In the bathroom, the original porcelain tiles are preserved and extended to clad both the bathtub and surrounding walls, creating a sculptural, immersive effect. A restrained palette of green, beige, and amber tones complements the wooden paneling, producing a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

Art and decoration continue this dialogue between past and present. Nineteenth-century works are displayed in gilded frames, while the original antique mirrors above each fireplace reflect contemporary artworks, creating a subtle interplay between heritage and modernity.

This renovation embodies a layered approach: a conversation between history and the present, where every material, object, and artwork contributes to a cohesive, thoughtful, and elegant home.
